Refund Policy

At EduModes, customer satisfaction is our priority. This Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions under which we issue refunds for our premium educational subscription. We process all payments and refunds through Razorpay, our trusted payment processor.

By purchasing a premium subscription on our platform, you agree to the terms of this Refund Policy. Please read this policy carefully before making any purchases.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

All refunds are processed through Razorpay, our payment processor. The timing of receiving your refund will depend on your payment method and financial institution.

1. Refund Eligibility

1.1 Premium Subscription Refunds

For our premium subscription plan (₹149/month or ₹1,490/year), we offer a refund under the following conditions:

  • Monthly subscriptions: Refund requests must be made within 7 days of the purchase date or renewal date
  • Annual subscriptions: Refund requests must be made within 14 days of the purchase date or renewal date
  • You have not extensively used premium features during the refund period

1.2 Special Promotions and Discounted Subscriptions

Premium subscriptions purchased under special promotions or discounts may have different refund terms:

  • Heavily discounted subscriptions (more than 50% off the original price) may have a shorter refund window
  • Limited-time promotional offers may have special refund conditions as specified during purchase
  • Free trial conversions to paid subscriptions follow the standard refund policy from the date of the first payment

2. Non-Refundable Items

The following purchases are non-refundable under any circumstances:

  • Premium subscriptions where you have accessed a significant number of resources (more than 20 resources) during the refund period
  • Subscription fees for previous billing cycles that have already concluded
  • Subscriptions where you have extensively used premium features (such as AI Teacher Assistant or family account switching)
  • Subscriptions explicitly marked as "Non-Refundable" during special promotions

3. Refund Process

To request a refund for your premium subscription, please follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your EduModes account
  2. Navigate to "Subscription Settings" in your account dashboard
  3. Click on the "Request Refund" button
  4. Complete the refund request form, providing the reason for your refund request
  5. Submit your request

Alternatively, you can email our support team at support@edumodes.com with your refund request. Please include your order number, the date of purchase, and the reason for requesting a refund.

4. Refund Processing

4.1 Refund Timeframes

We aim to process all refund requests within the following timeframes:

  • Refund request review: Within 2 business days of receiving your request
  • Refund processing: Within 5-7 business days after approval

Please note that while we process refunds promptly, the time it takes for the refund to appear in your account depends on your payment method and financial institution:

  • Credit/Debit Cards: 5-10 business days
  • UPI/Net Banking: 3-7 business days
  • Razorpay Wallet: 1-3 business days

4.2 Razorpay Refund Process

All refunds are processed through Razorpay, our payment processor, and will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase. The refund process follows these steps:

  1. EduModes approves your refund request
  2. We initiate the refund through the Razorpay dashboard
  3. Razorpay processes the refund to your original payment method
  4. You receive a confirmation email once the refund has been initiated
  5. The funds are returned to your account according to your financial institution's processing time

In accordance with Razorpay's policies, please note that the payment gateway processing fees (approximately 2-3% of the transaction amount) may be deducted from the refund amount for certain types of transactions.

5. Subscription Cancellations

Cancelling a premium subscription is different from requesting a refund. When you cancel your subscription:

  • You will continue to have access to the premium content until the end of your current billing cycle
  • No further charges will be made to your payment method after cancellation
  • Cancelling a subscription does not automatically qualify you for a refund of the current billing cycle
  • At the end of your billing cycle, your account will automatically revert to the free plan (limited to 5 resources per month)

To cancel your premium subscription:

  1. Log in to your EduModes account
  2. Go to "Subscription Settings" in your account dashboard
  3. Click on "Cancel Subscription"
  4. Follow the prompts to complete the cancellation process

6. Exceptional Circumstances

6.1 Technical Issues

If you experience persistent technical issues that significantly impact your ability to access or use our premium features, and our support team is unable to resolve these issues within a reasonable timeframe, you may be eligible for a refund outside the standard refund window. In such cases:

  • You must report the technical issues to our support team promptly
  • You must allow our technical team reasonable time to attempt to resolve the issues
  • You must provide necessary information and cooperation during the troubleshooting process

6.2 Premium Content Not as Described

If you believe that the premium content is significantly different from its description or fails to deliver the advertised benefits, you may request a refund with detailed information about the discrepancy. Each such request will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

6.3 Unauthorized Purchases

If you discover unauthorized charges for EduModes premium subscription on your payment method:

  • Contact us immediately at support@edumodes.com
  • Provide details of the unauthorized transaction
  • We will investigate the claim and, if verified, process a refund regardless of the standard refund timeframes

7. Refund Denials

A refund request may be denied under the following circumstances:

  • The refund request is made outside the specified refund timeframe
  • You have accessed more than 20 resources during the refund period
  • You have extensively used premium features (such as certification or parent-child account linking)
  • The subscription was explicitly marked as non-refundable during purchase
  • You have violated our Terms of Service or engaged in abusive practices
  • You have previously received a refund within the last 30 days (indicating a pattern of refund requests)

If your refund request is denied, you will receive an email explaining the reason for the denial.

8. Free Plan

Please note that the free plan is provided at no cost and allows access to 5 resources per month. No refunds apply to the free features. You can upgrade to our premium plan (₹149/month or ₹1,490/year) at any time to access unlimited resources and premium features including the AI Teacher Assistant.

9. Payment Disputes and Chargebacks

We encourage you to contact our support team before initiating a payment dispute or chargeback with your payment provider or bank. If you file a chargeback without first attempting to resolve the issue with us:

  • Your account may be suspended pending resolution of the dispute
  • You may lose access to all premium content on our platform
  • Future purchases may require alternative payment methods
  • You may be responsible for any chargeback fees imposed by Razorpay or your financial institution

10. Changes to This Refund Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. For significant changes, we will notify you through:

  • A notice on our website
  • An email to the address associated with your account
  • An announcement on our platform's dashboard

Your continued use of our services after such modifications constitutes your acknowledgment and acceptance of the modified Refund Policy. We encourage you to periodically review this policy to stay informed about our refund practices.
